Weekend visitors
This weekend Grandma and Grandpa Heinrichs came for a visit to see-well, they claimed it was to see all of us, but we know that really, Carter is the rock star, and they were here to see him. That is OK though, we love that people want to drive the distance to see him for a short visit (or long visit for that matter!) We get the appeal.
Carter is growing and changing it seems every day. I noticed today he is able to grasp things and pull at them, as well as look at them while he is doing it. What an accomplishment! He is also able to sit for longer periods supported (see the picture with Matt holding him up below).
The only change the past week has been Carter's sleep. It has been erratic, to say the least. He has been having more problems getting himself to sleep at night after a feeding, and he is waking at 5:00, which he never really has done before. We wonder if he is experienceing a growth spurt, but we really can't tell for sure. At last measure, he was 24 inches (vs. the 23 ½ he measured at the doctor's a few weeks ago).
On Friday, Carter went to his PT appointment. He definitely has torticollis, and they gave us a number of different exercises to do with him to improve his range of motion on the right hand side. A quote from the pamphlet we received states “Make sure the world happens for your baby on the right hand side.” That is more difficult than it seems, when everything is fascinating to your baby. We are doing the best we can though, changing many of his ADL's so that he is forced to look and concentrate on strengthening his right hand side.
Well, that is all for now. Enjoy the photos!
