9 Months Old, Good as Gold
I realized that Carter had his weekly check up last week, and I didn't post his progress, and changes etc...sadly, I brought the wrong paper to work this morning. Upon second glance when creating this post, I realize I have the paper from his 6 month check up. Any way you look at that...it's wrong.
Instead, I will give you a "Carter is so cool, he is doing this" update.
Carter is now pulling himself up on things, obsessed with standing. Not quite sure what to do with himself once he is in standing position, but pretty jazzed once he is there.
Matt also considers his crawling to be 3rd gear. He really doesn't stumble when crawling any more, he sets his site on the target, and off he goes. The one benefit on having a loud child is that if it is something he is very excited about getting to (= dangerous, and he shouldn't be going near it) he makes an excited noise, and laughs giddily while acquiring his target. It is then followed by the silence once he gets there.
Carter is really social now. We are learning about what it is like to travel with a child who engages all he meets. I am chatting with more people now, people who a year ago showed no interest in either Matt or I (aside from the smiles and glances you get when people realize you are pregnant rather than carring extra weight). However, a year ago, we didn't have someone accompanying us who would smile, crinkle up his nose and snort at people as we passed. Along with the random waving to people who we talk to for a few minutes (like the nice man at Home Depot yesterday), our conversations with people are much longer.
Finally, one of Carter's front teeth has broken through. It is all the way through the gum now, and is ever so slowly making its way down, down, down.
