My Ha-PPy Birthday!

I can't believe it is almost time for Carter's 3rd birthday! It is unbelievable that June 19 three years ago, we went into labour...and left with a little boy a few days later from the hospital.

WAIT.

That was December 19, 2004.

The time has come. We are changing Carter's birthday date to June 19 this year. So, Carter is 3 in a few weeks.

SERIOUSLY?

Yes.

Seriously.

On another note. At Easter I bought a bunch of stuff-not candy-for Carter for seek at Easter. When I got home I realized I had gone a little crazy. Matt and I decided it made sense to hide the gifts and just divvy them out throughout the next few months. When I think hide...I think under my bed. I always have. I realize that this is not the most unique hiding spot, therefore making it a rather bad hiding spot. What's done is done.

Two days ago Carter was waiting for Matt and I to get ready in the morning, and he was getting a little impatient. He began searching under our bed, for some unknown reason. All of sudden I hear a little gasp, then he started pulling something out. He then exclaims, "MY HA-PPY BIRTHDAY! MY HA-PPY Birthday!" and bring the booty to the top of the bed for us all to look at. Times like this, I can't contain myself. I laughed so hard I began to cry.

It seemed like enough time had passed from Easter that Carter was able to access some of his booty. When he left for daycare, I found a better hiding spot (under HIS bed) for the booty, and left a puzzle for him to open and play with when he got home. I just hope he doesn't go under his bed to play...he almost NEVER does that!

Join us in celebrating Carter's birthday in a few weeks. Buy yourself something nice, hide it under your bed, and then on the 19th pull it out and give it to yourself. Everyone can have a new birthday!
