Welcome to Miami- Bienvenidos a Miami

We had a great trip-it was wonderful to be away from the rain for almost a week...but scary to come back to a lawn that wildlife is comfortable hiding in and calling home (I thinkwe have a bunny den!)

Seriously-the trip was great. The weather was hot-which meant we had to keep Mr. C extra hydrated with water (see water drinking picture below). The sun also meant we had to uber sun screen the little man. However, sucessful parents that we were-he remains unscathed without a sun burn. A little worse for ware after a day of travelling yesterday, but all in all, not too bad.

"How was Carter on the plane?" Well, on our way there, he was grrrreat. Tony the tiger would have been proud. On the way back, he was a little tired of being on the plane, travelling and being in cramped quarters. He let us, and other passengers know. Now, this is not to say he wailed the whole 4 hours, but it was a challenge keeping the little man occupied so that he didn't. Considering he didn't sleep at all in the afternoon, and had a poor night's sleep the night before, he did quite well. At any rate, it was a long flight for us all.

Special attractions? Well, we did see the making of a Girls Gone Wild video. Before you get too excited, we saw the director talking to police officers during the day, staging the shoot, and a Girls Gone Wild bus...that is all. So much for the south beach experience. [sigh] Oh well, the Girls would have been too confusing for Carter anyway. "I don't get it? Are those mine? Why are they flashing me if they don't want me to eat?"

More updates later!

Happy Memorial Day weekend, and hope you all had a great Victoria Day weekend past.

A gecko? I think so, they were running around everywhere. Cute, cuddly and fast. Posted by Hello

Pre-Miami update

Carter has learned so much in the past week! One of the new and cool things, that he can't seem to stop doing is grabbing his feet. Helpful when applying cream on his but, not helpful when trying to put a diaper on.

The other new thing Carter seems to be developing is the ability to raise his but up when he is on his tummy. Precursor to crawling. Adding this to the repertoire of stuffing EVERYTHING he finds in his mouth, means we have a lot of cleaning to do.

Physio is going really well. Carter is a model patient. I suspect he has model parents who follow the regime very well. He may go from meeting Joanna on a weekly basis to monthly soon (right now he has just transitioned to 1 time every two weeks).

Next week I will have plenty of pictures to upload from our trip. We are also going to be starting solids soon, so those should be some interesting pictures as well.

ENJOY!

"Oh Wayne...give me a hug!" One of Carter's bears, Wayne, providing Carter with a much needed hug before naptime. Wayne loves hugs (unlike the real life Wayne who gave the bear to Carter...so odd, how bear and man can be so different!) Posted by Hello

Happy Mother's Day!

We sure had a great day yesterday. After a short nap in the morning, Matt and I took Carter for his first swim in a real pool. After a few minutes of looking around at other swimmers and bopping up and down in the pool, Carter decided that he may just like swimming. Of course, Matt and I had to learn how to share the baby during this exciting first. I think Carter really enjoyed the fact that he could float in the water, and, by the time we were leaving, I think he was connecting the kicking of his feet and movement of his hands to splashing (which is endless amounts of fun during bath time).

All in all, a success.

After a long nap in the afternoon, Carter visited with Uncle Corey and Auntie Kate. He was wishing he could visit with Karyn, after learning she is pregnant with twins, Carter has a new mission to make those babies dance (well, it may be more our mission!)

Enjoy the photos!
