Rise of the Machines
Background: We have a Roomba (robot that cleans our floors).
We recently gave in and hired help to deal with the squalor that has taken over our home. We now have a service that comes in and cleans up after us twice a month. Little costly (or 'spendy' as folks say 'round these parts), but they do a decent job (and they're hot chix - webcam feed available shortly).
The first time they came in they took a few hours, cleaned up the whole place. This was during the day while the boys were away at Daycare.
Carter came home that same day and starts looking around. Clearly surprised/impressed at how clean the house is. Can see him trying to make sense of his new clean house, and then suddenly it dawns on him! He runs into the kitchen over to where the Roomba is parked and starts yelling (cause he's a toddler, many things are yelled): "Thank you robot! Thank you robot!", and proceeds to tell Mom that the Robot had cleaned their house.
He then did a more complete inspection of the house, and reported back on what the robot had all been up to.
[run, run, run]
"Robot clean Nolen room!"
[run, run, run]
"Robot clean my room!"
[run, run, run]
"Robot clean mom dad room!"
Which is all fine and good. And quite cute.
Robot Uprising
So - the other day, our living room was in a state of disarray (doesn't matter which day, it's always in disarray). Adine decided to tidy up and enlist the help of the person responsible. She asked Carter to start putting some of his toys away.
"No"
"excuse me???"
"Robot do"
This went back and forth a few times. Carter, a little confused at why our Robot is so lazy (only cleaning up twice a month??). Eventually caved in and helped out, but the Robot may not get the same glowing praise the next time it cleans the house.
