You are Three Today..

 

I can't believe it. You are three today. Although we have long since changed when we celebrate your birthday (June 19), I will always remember this day. The day that changed me from a mum-to-be, to a Mum.

You are so big now, yet even still, I can close my eyes and think of you as a soft, little baby. While three years ago today you were so tiny, vulnerable, and unable to move anything consciously except your mouth and your hands, today you can run, jump, dress yourself, and proclaim, "NO, I DO IT MYTELF!"

On days like today, I miss the little baby who filled our home with newness and uncertainty-yet, I only have to look into your eyes to remember. And, in that very same moment, I look into those eyes and see a future fold before me, and I can't wait for the rest of the ride, where are you going to take us next?

Snow!

Dad - stuck inside working on an RFP...

My eldest son just "accused" me of not knowing HOW to play in the snow. c'mon! I practically INVENTED playing in the snow.

Anyway - CHALLENGE, I guess. Next weekend I'll build him an igloo, if the snow sticks around long enough.

Here is video of Nolen walking from Friday, 11/30/2007. Every day he gets a little bit better, so I am glad we were able to get clear footage that was not stopped mid walk because Nolen felt the need to pose (such a ham) and make the photograph.
